Historical NoteReturn to Top

The Condon Lecture Series was created in 1944 by the Oregon State Board of Higher Education. The purpose of the lecture series was "to interpret significant scientific research to the nonspecialist as a contribution toward the understanding of life." The series was named after the University of Oregon's first geologist, Thomas Condon. Lectures were hosted annually by Oregon State University, Portland State University, and the University of Oregon.
