Biographical Note

Alice "Pat" Rice Capson Brown was born in Farmington, Utah, one of eight children who grew up on the family farm. She is an alumna of the University of Utah where she received both her bachelor of arts and master of arts degrees. She worked as a lifestyle writer for the Salt Lake Tribue and has received various accolades for her writing in journalism and poetry. She is married to Bill Brown with whom she has three grown children.
