Biographical NoteReturn to Top

Jali Nyama Suso (circa 1925-1991) was a kora musician from Gambia. He was known for his weekly radio program which ran on Radio Gambia for 25 years. His first album was recorded while he was a resident artist at the University of Washington in 1971. Throughout the 1980s, he toured around western Europe performing his music in France, Germany, Sweden, and England.
