Historical NoteReturn to Top
The Ancient Order of Vikings (A.O.V.) was a Norwegian fraternal club founded in Tacoma. Originally organized as the Society Viking in 1893, the group was reorganized a few years later under revised laws and more formal rituals, and renamed the Ancient Order of Vikings. Tacoma Ship No. 1 was the name of the local A.O.V. assembly. The A.O.V. Tacoma Ship No. 1 was disbanded by 1962.
