This collection consists of papers of civil engineer and Washington State University faculty member John C. Cook. It includes materials related to research on highway surfaces, effects of studded tire use, the Pullman (WA) public transit system, and planning for the Lewiston (ID) regional airport. Materials include reports (final and interim) on various projects; binders of collected newspaper clippings about the Lewiston (ID) regional airport (1967-1976), studded tires, and other topics; photographs, data, and reports related to experiments conducted at the Washington State University test track.

Box 2. Study on Pullman transit system; files on Lewiston regional airport and Steptoe Canyon (1960s-1970s); reports by Cook and others.
Box 3. Reports by Cook and others (continued) about studded tires, pavement deflection measurement (dynamic), WSU test track experiments, and other topics related to pavement and highways.

James C. Cook was a research engineer at Washington State University from 1965 to 1982. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering degree and a professional degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Idaho (1947, 1966).
