In the petition, Chavner explains that the bridge cost him 3,000 dollars and that he has an offer for the bridge from "persons who propose to purchase, teardown, and remove" it. Chavner is offering the bridge to the county of Jackson, and the people, for 2,500 dollars, in gold or silver.
