The collection is open to the public.
Some of the photographs are very contaminated wtih fixer chemicals. This is due to improper processing when they were developed. The contamination will continue to affect the other images over time.

Historical BackgroundReturn to Top
Ian F. Brown and his wife Joan M. Brown ran the Western Ski Promotions company for four decades beginning in the 1950s. They published a variety of newspapers and magazines which were related to skiing in the Pacific Northwest. They started out in Vancouver, BC but moved the business to Seattle in 1965. The main magazine they published was "Northwest Skier." Some of the other publications were "Western Canada Skier" and "Ski Industry."
