Historical NoteReturn to Top
Edward Whitten Isom (1885-1962) joined Sinclair Oil Company in 1916, when the company was formed under the presidency of his father, William Henry Isom. E.W. Isom developed the Isom process of petroleum cracking. He also served as vice-president of research and development from 1923-1942 and president of Sinclair Rubber from 1942-1955. He retired in 1955 but continued to consult for the company.
