Biographical NoteReturn to Top
Dr. Simon Ottenberg, is an emeritus professor of anthropology at the University of Washington and a scholar of modern and contemporary Nigerian art. His initial fieldwork in Nigeria during the 1950s and 1960s focused on traditional arts of the Afikpo Igbo culture. In the early 1990s, Ottenberg redirected his scholarship toward modern and contemporary Nigerian art.
