Political activist and public offical of King County, Washington.
Thomas E. Smith was born in 1899. He served as Democratic Party leader, 1944-1969; King County commissioner; warden, Washington State Penitentiary, 1938-1949; and administrator, Washington Department of Public Assistance, 1937-1968. He was also affiliated with the International Woodworkers of America and Washington Public Institutions Department.
