Historical NoteReturn to Top
The Seattle Golf and Country Club was formed in 1900 and opened its first golf course in the Laurelhurst neighborhood. In 1908, that golf course was closed and the club moved to its present location in the Highlands neighborhood on Northwest 145th Street. At that time it also changed its name to the Seattle Golf Club, the name by which it is currently known.

The collection contains both interior and exterior photographs of the Seattle Golf Club golf course and clubhouse in the Highlands neighborhood of Seattle (now Shoreline), ca. 1910. The clubhouse, with its dark siding and white stucco, was designed by the architects Cutter and Malmgren to evoke the mountain architecture of Europe.
