- Summary
- The Home Building and Loan Association was founded in Helena in 1885. In the 1970s it became Western Federal Savings and eventually Western Security Bank. Records consist of financial records (1888-1975); unsorted legal documents; organizational records (1885-1927) including articles of incorporation, bylaws, minutes, and stock records; printed material, miscellany, and clippings. There are subgroups for Schroeder Brothers, a closely allied insurance business; Associated Charities; Avon Timber Company; Helena Association of Credit Men; Helena Bottling Company; Matheson and Steell; and several smaller subgroups. There are also a large number of historic Helena photographs.
