Content DescriptionReturn to Top
The Great Salt Lake Yacht Club scrapbooks (1973-1995) consist of three scrapbooks centered around events and issues concerning the Great Salt Lake. The Great Salt Lake Yacht Club was formed in 1932 and adopted "the saltiest sailors" as a slogan for its members. Each scrapbook in this collection contains materials on lake-oriented subjects such as sailing and boating activities, tourism, water level and flooding, causeway and marina development, and Saltair. Most of the materials are in the form of newspaper articles, "The Brine Flyer," membership rosters, meeting and activity announcements, social event programs, correspondence, and photographs. An oversize map of the Great Salt Lake south arm is also included in the collection.
