Content DescriptionReturn to Top

The collection of William Cadbury's faculty papers consists of a loose leaf copy of his book titled Getting the Point: Film as Literature. This book, written by Cadbury, examines film in its use as a form of literature. Thus, Cadbury argues that as a form of literature, each film has a unique structure and theme known as the "auteur theory." Each film is its own and the proper meaning lies in its structure and how it is perceived by the audience. The book then goes on to examine individual directors and films to analyze the literary structure of film and the reaction of the viewers.
