Biographical NoteReturn to Top

A student literary magazine has been published since 1971. It was originally called Concrete Statement from 1971-1975 and Reflections from 1976-1977. In 1975-1977, the magazine was printed in The Torch (student newspaper). When it resumed publication in 1979, it was called the Denali. From 1979-1987, it was published once or twice a year; from 1988-2006, it was published three times a year in Fall, Winter, and Spring terms. It was published twice a year in 2007 and once in 2008; it was not published in 2009; and in 2010 it began annual publication in the Spring.

The Denali Literary and Arts Magazine accepts submissions from persons living in Lane County and/or students of the college. It accepts all original works of art and literature regardless of medium, style, or subject matter, including poetry and short stories, photography, etchings, prints, paintings, drawings, photo-manipulation and all forms of printable digital art.

The English, Foreign Language and Speech Department and then, after a name change, the Language, Literature and Communications Department administers the Denali.
