Biographical NoteReturn to Top
Fayette Florent Krause was born in 1942. Krause held the presidency and other offices in the Seattle Audubon Society. He has been Washington Land Steward for the Nature Conservancy since 1979. He was also a board member of the Washington Environmental Council (1976-1978), Friends of Discovery Park, Seattle Parks and Recreation Department Advisory Committee on Discovery Park, and a member of the Washington State Parks and Recreation Planning Task Force on Leadbetter State Park. He also chaired Citizens For Referendum 33, which was approved by Washington voters in 1973 and provided the funds for the non-game animal program operated by the State Department of Game.

Also includes papers related to Krause's service as president, Seattle Audubon Society; board member, Washington Environmental Council; and Washington land steward, Nature Conservancy. Additionally includes papers related to Friends of Discovery Park, a draft of a guide to birds on the University of Washington campus, and writings on RARE (Roadless Area Review and Evaluation) II. Topics of papers include preservation of wildlife habitat at specific sites in Washington, including Protection Island, Dungeness Spit, Leadbetter Point, Juniper Forest, and Ebey's Landing.
