The Franklin Spencer Spalding collection (1913) consists of a bound volume of news articles from the Deseret Evening News concerning the controversy surrounding Spalding's pamphlet, "Joseph Smith as Translator." This pamphlet debated Joseph Smith's interpretations of Egyptian characters included in the Pearl of Great Price's Book of Abraham.
