Biographical NoteReturn to Top

Charles Owen Smithers was born in Kalispell, Montana, in 1893. He attended the University of Montana in Missoula and moved to Butte at the age of 26. He worked as a photographer and opened Smithers and Son Photography which was later run by his son Charles Owen, Junior. C. Owen served in both World War I and World War II. He died March 1, 1973 in Butte, Montana.
