Content DescriptionReturn to Top
The Edward Kolbe Research Notebook documents Kolbe's research on fishing trawl doors conducted as part of Oregon Sea Grant's Fishing Gear and Methods Development Program. It includes correspondence between Kolbe and fishing equipment companies and other researchers; newspaper clippings and articles from trade magazines; product literature and advertisements; notes; photocopies from journals and publications; and photographs. The photographs depict trawl doors on several fishing trawlers. They are primarily b/w prints and negatives; a few color prints and negatives are also included. The notebook is organized in sections by type of trawl door (bottom, midwater or combination bottom/midwater) and includes a table of contents. R. Barry Fisher also contributed to this research.
