Balwant Bua was a bhajan singer in the varkari tradition of bhakti singers He belonged to Naringre in Konkan, Maharashtra. He learnt music from Vasudev-bua Joshi (Gwalior gharānā) and worked as a teacher for some time in Kolhapur, and later in Pune, India.
