Biographical NoteReturn to Top
University of Washington professor and administrator.
Stanley P. Gessel was appointed to the faculty of the University of Washington in 1948 and received his doctorate from the University of California at Berkeley in 1950. A member of the Forest Resources faculty, his specific research interests included, forest soil classification, mineral cycling, tree nutrition and forest soil fertility, tropical forest soil and forest productivity. He served as associate dean of the college from 1966 to 1982.
