Biographical NoteReturn to Top
Gustav "Gus" Henry Bliesner (1910-1994), E. E., was an electrical engineer and an expert on rural electrification, sprinkler systems, and hydroelectric dams. Bliesner served as a consultant on industrial and military projects, and advised the United States space program on electrical systems. Bliesner received his Bachelor's and Master's of Science in Electrical Engineering in 1933 and 1934 respectively, from Washington State College. In 1939, Bliesner received his Professional Engineering degree, and later became a Ph.D. candidate at Iowa State College. Bliesner's career consisted of time as an Engineer Professor and worked with several industries, including: the Army Corps of Engineers, Boeing, North American Aviation, and the Bonneville Power Administration. Bliesner also participated in the Grand Coulee Dam construction, and the development of the Boeing KC-135. (see Cage 220)

The collection consists of scrapbooks, collected printed materials (books, articles, printed ephemera), papers pertaining to Bliesner's autobiographies, genealogy research documents, and miscellaneous materials.
