Biographical NoteReturn to Top
Pearl Rook Hanley was born in Indiana to parents Mary J. Wright and John T. Rook. She attended high school in Dunkirk, Indiana, and Franklin College before teaching public school in Dunkirk. She married Dr. Erestus Talbot Hanley in Seattle on August 29, 1905. Dr. Hanley died on January 23, 1936.
Pearl Hanley was an active member of the Seattle First Baptist Church. She died on May 26, 1982.

Two photograph albums relating to Pearl Rook Hanley's life and interests. One of the photograph albums documents a 1909 excursion to Elwha and includes some typewritten notes. The other album also features camping trips in the Elwha area, as well as some photographs from the Alaska Yukon Pacific Exposition. One of the albums contains some photographs that were enlarged from original photographs in the other album.
