Bernie Green (1908-1975) was born Bernard Greenwald, and he became a music composer, conductor, and arranger. He graduated from NYU College of Fine Arts in 1932 and first became famous in the mid 1940s as director and composer for the "Henry Morgan Radio Show." Other radio shows he worked on were "The Fat Man" and "The Clock."
He also wrote for 1950s television shows such as "Mr Peepers," "Ceasar's Hour," and "The Garry Moore Show." He also wrote music for the Miss Universe and Miss U.S.A. pageants from 1968-1975. In addition, Green wrote plays, musicals, and albums.
Green was a member of the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers beginning in 1955.

The collection contains correspondence, and music, lyric, score, and arrangement manuscripts for albums, pageants, radio and television shows, and commercials.
Music manuscripts contain scores and arrangements as well as scripts for production and are arranged by type of production, i.e. album, pageants, radio, television, and commercials. There is also a section of music manuscripts that are not identified with a production and these have been arranged alphabetically by title of work.
Manuscript material includes notes and research, presentation, program notes and lyrics, scenes, and synopses. Titles include "Beatles," "Blondie," "Cool McCool," "Musically Mad," "The Clock," "The Fat Man," "Henry Morgan Show," "Caesar's Hour," "G-2," "Hallmark Hall of Fame," "Living Easy," "Mr. Peepers," "Pulitzer Prize Playhouse," and "Warriors of Peace."
There is one recording of Waltz Etudes for Orchestra Symphony.
Correspondence from the years 1966-1975 is included.
