Content DescriptionReturn to Top

The collection consists of F. Hague Callister's typed reminiscences of a two-and-a-half-day camping trip he took on Marys Peak, Oregon (written as Mary's Peak) in June 1927. The account, divided into 10 chapters and totaling 35 pages, describes traveling from Albany, Oregon, to Marys Peak with other campers, and the activities undertaken during the camping trip, including hiking to the mountain's summit. The document also includes a hand-drawn map indicating the route by which the campers drove from Albany to Marys Peak. The title page and an introductory note indicate that Callister wrote this account several years after the camping trip, while attending high school in Albany.
