    Scope and Content: Tape-recorded interview with transcript, 11/6/81.

    Mr. Staadecker tells about his father coming to the U.S. from Germany in about 1890 and making his way west to Seattle where he founded a successful millinery business. He discusses the family's religious, civic and social life in the German-Jewish milieu of Seattle and Temple de Hirsch.
