Biographical NoteReturn to Top
Grace Denny joined the faculty at the University of Washington in 1913. She was a Home Economics professor, taking over the position from a former Chemistry professor. Grace had originally taught in wooden buildings that replicated shacks. She was involved in the creation of a building for women to learn Home Economics. The building was completed in 1916 and was occupied by other majors - Nursing, German, and Education. This building is known as Raitt Hall.
