Rose Arrington Blanchard (1860-1941) was the Oregon born daughter of emigrants to Scottsburg, Oregon. Rose Elizabeth Lyons was born on February 22, 1860 in Scottsburg, Oregon. She was the daughter of Daniel J. Lyons and Virginia Putnam Lyons. Her parents emigrated to Oregon from Kentucky in 1853, via the Isthmus of Panama, and established the first hotel and newspaper in Scottsburg. The family moved to Coos Bay in the 1880s. Blanchard died in Marshfield, Oregon in 1941.

The Rose A. Blanchard "Memories of My Sister, Fannie Lyons Dimmick" collection contains an eleven page account of Blanchard's sister's life as a pioneer resident of Scottsburg and Coos Bay, Oregon. This narrative was penned for Blanchard's nieces and nephews on the anniversary of her sister's death. Two copies of this document are available.
