The Oregon Alliance for Progressive Policy was established in 1989 and ceased operation in 1994. The organization was "a multi-issue coalition that [sought] to increase the power of diverse organizations, promote cooperation among them, and develop and implement action strategies for progressive political change and social justice." The organization was involved in electing progressive candidates, in promoting economic development in African American communities in Portland, in anti-bigotry programs, in public education on tax issues, and in organizing and training progressive activists and lobbyists.

Stein, a member of the organization's board of directors, and include minutes of meetings, financial records, news releases, research materials, publicity, position papers, and related materials. Also included is a history of the organization by Michael Leachman, 2000.
