Biographical NoteReturn to Top
Marcelle Vernazza was born on March 10, 1909 in Somerset, Kentucky. She graduated in 1930 from Whitman College in Walla Walla, Washington with a degree in music. She moved to San Francisco, California, where she taught piano and accompanied the San Francisco Chorus for 13 years. She worked as a Professor of Music at San Francisco State University from 1945 to 1974. She died on March 20, 2003, at the age of 94.
