Biographical Note

Evans traveled to New York from Liverpool and then by train to Seattle. He lived with his brother Thomas in Carbonado and worked in various functions at the coal mine, played the church organ, and sang in a choir and for other events. He describes holidays and his return trip via Los Angeles and Denver to New York, where he was in 1914 when Germany declared war on Belgium.
