Tape recorded interview conducted by Meta Buttnick Kaplan and Joseph Cohen on 1 Aug 1978. The accession also includes programs, a student paper, clippings, and a genealogy ofthe Waxman family.
Mrs. Stusser tells how her father, Harris Waxman, came to America in 1879 and to Seattle in 1909. She tells of his history in business and how her brother, Dr. Murray Waxman, was a New York physician to the people who comprised the Algonquin Round Table. She tells of her husband, Leslie Stusser, and his activities with the Menorah Society at the University of Washington, in B'nai B'rith, and Temple de Hirsch. She tells of her sister, Rebecca Waxman, who, with Sarah Kahn Siegel, were the first Jewish teachers in the Seattle public schools.
