Scope and Content: Compilation of catch records, 1911-1942; statistical summary, 1906-1951; cover letter, 1983.

"Whales Taken by Species at Akutan and Port Hobron, Alaska (1911-1942)" is a complilation of catch records prepared by Stephen Leatherwood using various sources, especially "Pacific Fisherman" and the Lagen collection at the University of Washington. A list of all sources used is included. "Summary of Recent Whaling Off the West Coast of North America" by Raymond M. Gilmore is a similar compilation. Gilmore incuded a list of whaling grounds represented and a list of sources used.

Restrictions on Access: Open to all users.

Restrictions on Use: Creator's literary rights not transferred to the University of Washington Libraries.

"Alaska Whaling Data" is a computer coding of catch records compiled from the Lagen Collection of whaling records. Writing is a draft of "Whaling Results at Akutan (1912-1939) and Port Hobron (1926-1937), Alaska," by Stephen Leatherwood, Randall R. Reeves, and Stephen A. Karl.

Restrictions on Access: Open to all users.

Restrictions on Use: Creator's literary rights not transferred to the University of Washington Libraries.
