Biographical NoteReturn to Top

Judith Shannon Paine is a writer, editor and publisher who settled in Harrison, Idaho in the mid-1980s with husband Richard, daughter Nancy and son Shawn.

In 1987 Paine's poetry chapbook The Lizard King was published by the Harrison-based imprint Mother of Ashes Press established by Joe M. Singer. She subsequently became editor of Singer's irregularly published literary magazine, The Village Idiot.

Paine founded her own literary magazine, Delirium, in association with Muggwart Press of Riverside, California in 1989 and remained editor of the publication until a fire stopped production in 1991.

Judith Paine was awarded the World of Poetry Press' Golden Poet award in 1985.
