Tape-recorded interview conducted by Meta Buttnick and Karyl Winn, 5/9/72.

The Steinberg brothers, Reuben and Sam, came to Seattle with their family from Minsk in 1911. Their father was first in the junk business and then operated a men's furnishings business. To dispose of some merchandise they opened a retail outlet in Port Angeles in 1920. The remainder of the interview discusses their business and the advent of Reuben's son Sheldon into the business.
