Scope and Content: Tape-recorded interview conducted by M. Kaplan covering 1900-1940, with transcript, Oct. 14, 1974; photograph, and ephemera related to Pi Tau Pi (fraternity).
In his interview with Mrs. Kaplan, Mr. Rosenthal discusses his life in Dawson during the Klondike Gold Rush days, the beginning of the University Herald, John Reed, a pioneer in community papers, Lyle Spencer of Montesano, "Montesano Vidette" (possibly the oldest coummnity paper in Washington) Jewish activity in Montesano, B'nai B'rith, description of development of the University District, his acting in Meany Hall productions, University Glee Club, "Jewish Transcript" first in Seattle printed and edited by Herman Horowitz.
