1 1 P. Clinton Bortell postcards
Pearl Clinton Bortell began his time as a New Mexico photographer in 1914. He started his line of postcards in 1917, although there are a few earlier dates. He operated a studio and trading post in Gallup, New Mexico.
1916-1921
1 2 Burton Frasher postcards
Burton Frasher and his wife, Josephine, opened a photo shop in La Verne, California in 1914. Six years later they moved to Pomona, California where he expanded his studio by publishing postcards. "Frasher Photos" postcards were sold from the 1920s through the 1950s. He was known to go to great lengths to gather photos from remote locations throughout the southwest.

2 1 Laura Gilpin postcards
2 2 Mishler and Walker postcards
Calvin S. Mishler and Horace H. Walker worked in Gallup, New Mexico from 1905-1913. Prior to that time they were located in Flagstaff, Arizona.
2 3 W. Tom Mullarky postcards
In 1927 Mullarky purchased the J. R. Willis photo studion in Gallup, New Mexico, which Willis had previously purchased from Simeon Schwemberger. Mullarky worked in New Mexico roughly from 1927-1930s.
3 1 William Marion Pennington postcards
Pennington was involved with a number of photo studios in New Mexico from about 1904. In 1908 he moved to Durango, Colorado and opened a studio. He worked in the four corners area until the 1930s. He also partnered for a time with L. C. Updike from Pen-Dike Studio.

3 2 Simeon Schwemberger postcards
Brother Simeon Schwemberger, a Franciscan monk from Saint Michaels, left the order in 1909 to operate a studio and trading post in Gallup, New Mexico.
4 1-2 Joseph R. Willis postcards
Willis was a photographer and painter. He operated a studio in Gallup, New Mexico which he took over from Simeon Schwemberger in 1917. He worked from there until 1931 when he moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico.
5 1 Miscellaneous southwest postcards
This volume includes a letter from Olin C. Walker.
