The Pacific Northwest District of the Unitarian Universalist Association formed in 1962 with forty seven fellowships and thirteen churches across Oregon, Washington, Idaho, British Columbia, Montana, and Alaska. The organization formed to promote Unitarian Universalist purposes and principles. Their principles are based on worth and dignity of the individual, human relations defined by equity, justice and compassion, acceptance of the individual, right of individual conscience and democratic processes in life and in the congregation.

This collection consists of administrative records and publications from the Pacific Northwest District of the Unitarian Universalist Association. This includes committee minutes and reports, newsletters, and pamphlets from the Pacific Northwest District. The collection also contains materials from the national organization.

MS1993-42, 1960-1992 (17 linear feet)

This accession contains a variety of membership documents, course information, policies and procedures manuals, publications, handouts, and oral histories about the regional organization. This accession contains files from 1975-1987 about the leadership school run by the District, programs for Annual meetings from 1976-1992, and audio cassettes and transcripts of oral histories about the organization's history.

MS1994-09, 1953-1990 (7 linear feet)

This accession consists primarily of files for annual meetings of both the Pacific Northwest District and the General Assembly. The materials for the regional district date from 1963-1984, while the general assembly files are from 1966-1983. Also included are a set of administrative files that contain education and religious programs and items from board of directors. The accession also contains reel-to-reel audio tape recordings of some of the regional annual meetings.

MS1996-42, 1965-1995 (7 linear feet)

This accession mainly consists of administrative files. These include files about individual congregations and two sets of files related to the national organization. These include: field service documents, migrant ministries newsletters, nominations committee documents for leadership positions, annual reports from the local congregations, committee and conference publications. In addition, this accession includes files for the regional leadership school from 1988-1990, regional newsletters from 1962-1986, and a history of the organization by Gladys Burns.

MS2001-07, 1971-1992 (2 linear feet)

This accession contains documents on fundraising activities of the Unitarian Universalists as well as administrative committee documents. The accession includes mailings, project files, and several items on various taskforces and service programs. Of particular note is the collection of documents on the organization's history.
