Biographical NoteReturn to Top

Eduardo Falú (1923-2013) was a folk guitarist and composer from Buenos Aires, Argentina. He taught himself to play guitar during his childhood and toured around Argentina as a troubadour performing traditional folk tunes of the Argentine Northwest. He eventually formed in a duo with Cesar Perdiguero, who he traveled with during the early 1940s. He recorded his first album in 1950 and performed for the first time overseas in 1959. He has set over 150 poems to music and has been credited as a creator of Argentina's modern folk song movement as a result. In 1985, he received the Konex Award, the highest honor in the Argentine cultural realm.
