Isaac Riddle was born on 22 March 1830 in Boone County, Kentucky, to John and Elizabeth Stewart Riddle. He and his family joined the LDS Church in 1843 and moved to Nauvoo; Isaac was baptized in 1844. He married Mary Ann Levie in 1853 and later married Mary James, Mary Ann Eagles, and Mary Caroline Langford. He served a 10-year mission for the LDS Church, explored various lands, and had many dealings with different Native American tribes.
