Biographical NoteReturn to Top
Elizabeth Nyberg was born in Greenacres in Spokane Valley on May 21, 1911. Following graduation from North Central High School in Spokane in 1930, she attended Washington State Normal School, Cheney and acquired her teaching credentials in 1932. She was a teacher at the Liberty Lake school house, and in 1936 married Ernest Womach in 1936. Nyberg moved to Mohler, Washington and after the death of Ernest Womach in 1956, she married Carl Dammel in 1965. She died in Mohler on December 4, 2012.

The Elizabeth Nyberg papers consists of journals, photographs, marriage documents, and diplomas. The journals are daily diaries from 1935 and 1936. The photographs include portrait photos of Nyberg, and photos of her family and classes from 1914-1942. The marriage documents are from her first marriage to Ernest Womach in 1936. The diplomas are from North Central High School, 1930 and Washington State Normal School, Cheney, 1932. The documents from Libby Junior High and North Central High include information on courses and commencement in 1933-34.
