Historical NoteReturn to Top
On May 7th, 1924, C.F. Reynolds, Howard Seabury, E.S. Brackett, B.P. Kirkland, and S. Clarke established the Stillaguamish Fishing Country Club. They shortened the name to Stillaguamish Country Club on December 6, 1925, when they revised the club’s original land contract. The property was used as a weekend camping club in Snohomish County, complete with organizational policies regarding guests, acceptable conduct, etc., and a caretaker for the grounds.
A promotional brochure describes the Stillaguamish Country Club as “an exclusive club ‘for Forest Folk,’ embracing all phases of outdoor life.” Club property consisted of 150 acres of wooded land located between Snoqualmie, Washington, and the Mt. Baker National Forest, where French Creek meets the north fork of the Stillaguamish River.
Content DescriptionReturn to Top
The collection consists of fifteen photographs that were originally part of a scrapbook documenting the history of the Stillaguamish Country Club from its incorporation in 1924 through ca. 1945. The scrapbook was compiled by Eleanor Iorns, chairman of the club’s History and Traditions Committee. Included are images of significant club members and buildings.
