Biographical NoteReturn to Top
Two trips to Eufaula, Oklahoma between June 21 and June 25, 1982 and between July 25 and July 30, 1982 for the purpose of collecting Creek language material. From 3 to 5 hours a day were spent with 4 different informants. The sessions centered around various grammatical topics including a great deal of vocabulary. One informant recorded some old Creek hymns. Although the 19th century Creek Hymnal contains the words to the hymns written in the traditional alphabet, it has no musical notation. The melodies were orally transmitted.
