Bertelson was a photographer and free-lance writer of, among others, the Suquamish Indians. Most of the images are snapshots taken of various locations around Puget Sound in the 1930-1940s. The Native American images are listed at the end of the inventory and depict various scenes, activities, portraits of the Suquamish Indians, some of which are taken on Indian reservations including Tulalip, Colville, Yakima and Lummi.
