Mr. Darr, an Oregon climber, learned about the Lake Chelan area from Dan O'Brien, who had been there with Hermann Ulrichs. For further details see his articles in "The Mazama."

Tape recorded interview conducted by Karyl Winn on 9 Jul 1973.

Mr. Darr was involved in the first ascent of Bonanza and did a new route on Goode after Bauer made the first ascent. He describes trips into other places in the Lake Chelan area on which first ascents were made. On censored part of tape Darr mentioned finding a deposit of pitchblende in the Lake Chelan/Stehekin region.
