Historical BackgroundReturn to Top
The Jewish Education Council (JEC) is the Jewish community's education resource for adults, children, schools, and teachers. The JEC coordinates, plans, and evaluates the community's education agenda; advocates for and supports Jewish educators; provides educational resources and services; and promotes meaningful camp, youth group, and Israel experiences as integral parts of a broad-based Jewish education.

The collection contains images of students, teachers and graduations at the High School of Jewish Studies and activities of the Jewish Education Council of Greater Seattle. There are also photographs from the 1985 Pacific Northwest Religious Education Seminar, a Seattle Cantors 1983 concert, and a 1989 JEC Holocaust Days of Rememberance exhibit at Bangor Trident Submarine Base.
