Biographical NoteReturn to Top

Robert Braxton Shaw was born in 1897. Shaw was treasurer of the Action Committee Against Trident Submarine, a coalition of 20 peace and environment groups opposing the Trident Submarine Program. In 1968 he ran for the 7th district Congressional seat as a Peace and Freedom Party candidate.

Newsletters and financial records of the Action Committee Against Trident Submarine (ACATS), of which Shaw was treasurer. Peace and Freedom Party ephemera from the 1968 election.

Minister in United Church of Christ and United Methodist churches whose sermons were characterized by a strong social note. In 1968 Shaw ran for Congress on a peace platform for the Seventh District seat held by Brock Adams.
