Educator, author, and missionary in China.

Luella Miner born 1861, died 1935. Dr. Miner graduated from Oberlin College in 1884; she taught at Fisk University, Nashville, Tennessee, 1884-1887; in China at Luho Academy, the North China Union College (which she founded and headed); and the Cheeloo Theological School. She was a missionary in China from 1887-1935; and the author of "Two Heroes of Cathay," 1902; "China's Book of Martyrs," and "Textbook of Theology," in Chinese.

Correspondence, typescript copy of letters and of a journal (1901-21), text of a speech, report, photographs, and other papers related to activities as a student and a teacher, 1884-1935.

Includes news clippings concerning the Boxer Rebellion and the Siege of Peking, a report on bound feet written by a student in 1894, and tributes to Dr. Miner upon her death.
