Journalists.
The family consisted of Beriah Brown Sr., 1815-1900, and his three sons, Beriah Jr., 1857-1939; James H., 1871-1939. and Ashmun Norris, 1872-1948. They were all active journalists and editors, in Olympia and Seattle, Washington. Ashmun N. Brown was secretary to Richard A. Ballinger when the latter was Secretary of the Interior.
