- The Peter G. Johnston papers (1896-1961) contain a photocopy of a letter between Johnston and David O. McKay, other correspondence, minutes of a meeting between McKay and the Oakland Temple District, and a paper titled "That Was Peter G: A Review of the Life of Peter Green Johnston" by Peter Budge Johnston. Johnston was a Scottish convert to the LDS Church. After emigrating to the United States around 1881, he became a sheep rancher in Idaho and a member of the Idaho state legislature in 1907.

Biographical NoteReturn to Top
Peter Green Johnston (1864-1931) was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church). He immigrated to America from Graemsay, Scotland, around 1881. In America, he invested his time in the sheep business, and upon moving to Blackfoot, Idaho, he became involved with politics and became a member of the state legislature in 1907.
